Karl Lagerfeld had drawn from his French vocabulary to make a cream silk high-necked playsuit (part classic blouse, part romper) and a dotted tulle shirt with a frilled triangle bra beneath. Thankfully, it didn’t slip completely into the clichés of boudoir (hypersexy is not the mood). That’s because of the more rough-hewn elements—say, a pale blue linen sarong, wrapped like a simple piece of raw-edged fabric around the body—and the incredibly luxurious Fendi craftsmanship.

sc000a511bMarc Jacobs ~ Sequined silk dress, lambskin-and-metal bag, and suede-leather-and-snakeskin sandals by Marc Jacobs

Just got one of my fave magazine Allure.  The January issue with Jennifer Lopez looking stunning in the cover.  The issue showed the design of each of the different designer for the season.  I just thought there were all so beautiful and unique in their own way.

Louis Vuitton never fail to impression me with any of their collection.  This one is no different.  This season, the design backstory goes, the Vuitton woman has stumbled across a stash of brimming LV heritage trunks (lucky girl!). Inside them is a treasure trove of goodies, many with a 1960’s slant, from a gray fox vest straight out of Love Story and a swingy cape cut from a vintage Vuitton blanket to reverse tweed skirtsuits and stripey handkerchief dresses. And then there are the accessories: tote bags in steel lamé jacquard lined in quilted safety orange, and evening sandals complete with fur leg muffs. The collection may be young at heart, but it’s 100 percent luxe.

Heidi Klum is like a supermom to me.  Doing everything and anything.  You see her everywhere.  From being the host of Project Runway to giving birth to her fourth child, daughter Lou Sulola.  Now she is even launching maternity lines for A Pea in the Pod and Motherhood Maternity.  In keeping with Heidi’s own sexy maternity style, Lavish includes 15 pieces of “iconic style and seamless fit.” One highlight? A slinky black maxidress, $128, worthy of a red carpet arrival! Loved will offer 14 affordable items made for comfort. Pieces include a loose-fitting floral print top, $40, and blue button-down tunic, $30.

This is what i look forward every season.  What Chanel is coming out with.  It just brighten up my day.

Lagerfeld’s summing up of the season’s tendencies—beige, ivory, and black; rough textures; transparency and lace—was spun into a collection so masterfully balanced between classicism and current fashion affairs that the whole thing felt delightfully sure-footed.  The editing of everything to short lengths looked sweet without being chichi—the test being that every teenage girl looked naturally at home in the little thigh-split skirts (that’s what has happened to the bottom half of the Chanel suit), as well as in the mini-crinis and ruffled dance dresses.

Emma Watson is all grown up.  I was just watching the first Harry Potter last night.  What a difference a couple of years makes.  Harry Potter star is reprising her role as the face of Burberry in the British brand’s latest ad campaign for Spring/Summer 2010. Shot by legendary photographer Mario Testino, Emma Watson gets glam while showing off the label’s three collections, including Burberry Prorsum, Burberry London and Burberry Brit. From plaid handbags to their signature trench coats, the campaign “celebrates our heritage and our timeless Burberry icons,” says Christopher Bailey, Burberry Chief Creative Officer. “The energy of the images and the dynamic cast reflect the different attitudes and expressions of the Burberry guy and girl.” Emma is joined by four British guys, including two musicians and two models– one who happens to be her younger brother Alex Watson!
