Ferrara Cafe

IMG_0409

It was my day with my sweetie pie Sophia yesterday.  I saved her from the evil day care school. Ha! Ha! Just for the day though.  I will be attending day care with her today.  That is a whole new story.  I will talk about that tomorrow.

Yesterday was a nice day, back to the warmer weather.  Some what.  I had short, short on the bottom and hoodie on top.  Somebody joke about what i was wearing. Why you look so warm on top and chilly on the bottom. With the weather all crazy lately.  I really don’t know what to wear anymore.

Either way, me and Sophia walked around in Chinatown, NY.  We stopped for some dessert at Ferrara.  Sophia kept on saying ” Cake! Cake!”  The funniest part was that, everytime she see cake.  She sings the Happy Birthday song.  The way we eat cake and dessert.  Everyday would be her birthday.  But anything that makes her happy i guess.  Especially with what she has to deal with lately in school.  Being away from me.

Sara Lee! Sara Lee!!

get-attachment

I love sweet.  I have a super sweet tooth. That would include cake and pie.  I recently went to the supermarket and decided to try Sara Lee Chocolate Mousse Pie in the frozen food section.  Is actually pretty good.  All you have to do is take the pie out 30 minutes before serving.  The mousse is smooth and creamy.  To me, is not too sweet.  And is perfect for me because i cut the amount i want and put the rest back to the fridge.  Nothing goes to waste.

California Pizza

I guess Sesame Street was showing something about pizza.  Sophia ran to me asking for peeza.  That’s how she prononce it. ” peeza”  I always have some kind of frozen food for backup just in case i get hungry.  California Pizza is one of the item i always have in my fridge. Is thin crust,  just the way i like it.  Is crispy with  just the right amount of topping.  We had the Margherita pizza today which consist of tomatoe and cheese.  You could either microwave it or oven bake.  The way i do is, microwave for one minute to defrost and oven bake at 425 degree.  I don’t really time it.  I just check till the cheese is golden brown.  Then cut and serve.  Yum! ROSE HOUSE  New York

38 – 10 138th Street 1st Floor

Flushing, NY 11354

Took a night off from Sophia. Found the best babysitter in the whole wide world. Grandmama was willing to look after her for couple of hours.  I always want to try this place called Rose House, and finally my friend Nancy brought me there after we had our dinner.  I didn’t know what to expect from this place at first.  The location was inside a mall. Once you walk in, there are tea sets set up neatly on the shelfs.  It was a nice, quiet environment where you could sit and enjoy their cup of tea.

Where kids eat free from A-Z

These days families can use all the freebies they can find. Whether it’s an extra sundae for the kiddos or an all-out free feast, every little penny counts.

I don’t know any parents that doesn’t bring their kids out to eat. Especially with my cooking skills. We eat out prettttty often. Sad but true. I just don’t have that cooking gene in me. Some people could close their eyes and cook up a fabulous meal and some like me, have trouble cooking something edible with both of my eyes wide open.

So this topic just caught my attention. I love to bring Sophia out for dinner, but sometimes. Well…. most of the time. She takes couple of bites and just leave the rest. I feel like is such a waste of money. My mother always say….money doesn’t grow out from a tree.

So this past Sunday. I was hungry for something grill since i didn’t BBQ on July 4th. To make up for it, my friends and i went to Yakitori for dinner. The place is forever pack with people, sometimes the line is so long that you would have to wait outside. But i think is worth it since the food is good and the price is not bad either. The only problem is the seats are tight and the place is loud. Is not a place you would pick to chat. I’ll give this place a 3 out of 5 for the food.

Happy Birthday America!!!!

DSC02485

Happy Birthday America!!!  Can’t find a better day to start my first post than 4th of July.  I really didn’t do much but spent most of the day with my little sweet pie Sophia. We just basically had our little party with ice cream, cake and her favorite sesame street show. I think that just made her day.

At night I met up with my friends  Wendy  and  YM for dinner. Dinner wouldn’t be complete without dessert. So we drove to Veniero’s to pick up some yummy pastry. I cannot tell you how good those pastries are. I been going there since I was a little girl. Until this day, I would say they are one of my top favorite places. I still remember when I was little, my mom would pick up my birthday cake from Veniero’s. And is always their strawberry and banana cake, my favorite. Their cheesecake is to die for. Smooth and Creamy, just melts in your mouth. Yum! Yum!
