Happy Birthday to my lil girl Sophia.  She turned 3 yesterday.  It’s been three crazy years.  But is all worth it.  I love her more and more everyday.  Seeing all her changes for the past three years has been amazing.  From sleeping all day long till now jumping and running around the house.  How i used to wonder what it would be like if Sophia would start talking to me when she was just a little baby till now non stop asking me things.  Or just hearing  “Mommy!! Mommy!! ” the whole day.  Although it does get annoying at times.  But i would not change anything in the world.  I love her just the way she is.   I could face any hardship in the world as long as she is by my side.  She is the reason i wake up everyday.

I would like to thank everyone who came out that day even though it was so cold and windy.   And thanks for all the wonderful, beautiful gifts.

I’m trying to give Sophia something else to do besides watching her Spongebob.  Instead i let her try water painting. Is a little messy, but it teaches her colors.  I think she enjoyed it.  Advise: Do not leave your child unattended without supervision or else the paint will get everywhere. HaHa!!

As you can see.  The water is blue, but don’t ask me why the seagull’s head is in pink. HaHaHaHa!!

Sophia is turning 3 next month.  I am so looking forward to that.  But at the same time i really don’t understand why i still don’t get a good night rest without Sophia crying, wait i meant screaming  3-4 times in the middle of the night.  I know is night terror and not nightmare.  There isn’t much i could do about her night terror.  It comes and goes.  It was getting better but lately it’s been coming back pretty strong.  I hardly gotten any sleep last night because she kept waking up screaming.  She doesn’t want to be touch nor talk to.  Night terror usually means let the kid scream and they will go back to sleep.  The thing is…..she doesn’t just scream for one or two  minutes.  She could scream and kick for 5-10 minutes.  I’m pulling out my hair thinking what i could do to help her.  I’m really running out of ideas and i’m getting tired.

It’s very common for even the best of sleepers to suddenly start having sleep problems, whether that means having a hard time falling asleep at bedtime or abruptly waking up during the night. Your toddler may be having night terrors, which are similar to sleepwalking but are more dramatic. Night terrors are often related to being sleep-deprived.

When your child “wakes up” with a night terror, go in and check on him but don’t speak to him or try to soothe him. Your child will resist being comforted and will appear confused and disoriented. Trying to soothe your child will only extend and intensify the sleep terror — even saying his name can make him more upset. Likewise, don’t try to vigorously awaken him. He may think you are attacking him. Instead, just let the night terror run its course, and stand nearby to make sure your toddler doesn’t hurt himself.

Your little one may also be having bad dreams. Your child’s imagination is developing, and that can’t help but carry over into his sleeping world. When he wakes up after a nightmare, go in and reassure him. A few moments spent soothing him should do the trick. Stay with him until he falls back to sleep if he asks you to. Don’t worry if he doesn’t want to talk about the dream. Sometimes nightmares aren’t about anything definitive, just a scary feeling.

Other common causes of night-waking in previously good sleepers include illness, separation anxiety or a looming developmental leap. In those cases, there are a couple of things to try, aside from treating the fever or throat or ear pain that’s making a sick toddler uncomfortable. First, make sure that your child is getting enough sleep in general. It may seem counterintuitive, but the less sleep your child gets, the more likely he is to have trouble settling down at bedtime and staying asleep through the night. So be consistent about putting him to bed for naps during the day and getting him to bed at a reasonable time in the evening.

When your toddler wakes up during the night, be soothing and calming, but boring. Let him know that everything is okay, but that it’s time to sleep. Keep the conversation to a minimum and the lights dim. It may take a few nights or even a few weeks to get back on track, but the closer you stick to his regular sleep routine, the sooner the problem will be resolved.

So you would think that Sophia is almost 3 and as the parent.  I should be sleeping through the night without being disturb.

I wasn’t in NYC on New Year.  I was on the road heading to visit one of my friend.  This time i brought Sophia and my mom along for the trip.  Consider this is the first time i took Sophia on a trip.  She did really good.  I’ll give her a 95.  I was definitely glad my mom came along.  We haven’t been on a trip together for awhile now.

I was going to bring Sophia to Springfield, MA to visit the famous Dr. Seuss National Memorial Museums.  But unfortunately, they were closed.  So my friend had another fun idea for Sophia.  Tubing !!!! I definitely can’t do skiing.  I have a bad back.  But tubing i could try.  The most important thing is that Sophia was allow on the ride.  First they said Sophia is too short for the ride.  But for some reason.  They just gave us the OK to do it anyway.

Sophia loved every minutes of it.  She kept on saying. Snow! Snow! Go Down! Go Down!  Which translate to.  Let’s do it again.  I really thought Sophia would be scare at first.  But after the first ride.  I could tell she loved it.  She we went on the ride like ten million times or at least it felt like it.  I enjoy it as much as Sophia did.  But i do think i’m getting old or just out of shape.  I got tired after like the tenth times.  Which just reminds me.  I better be in tip top shape or how else am i going to keep up with my lil one activities in the futures.

Thinking about maybe when Sophia is  old enough.  I do want her to learn skiing.  Since i can’t do it.  I would love her to do all the things i can’t.

Even my mom and my aunt went on the ride.  So it gotta be harmless.

Since papa bear knows how much Sophia loves taking pictures.  Papa bear got Sophia her own personal camera.  Well is more like…..so she won’t bother with mine.  Which equal to…..my camera would likely last longer.  Not that she is not careful with it.  But you know how kids are.  Oops!! And there goes your camera or phone.  You can’t blame the little one, you could only blame yourself as a parent for not being careful with your own item.

Sophia was so excited about her camera.  She was taking pictures of everyone and everything.  She was making funny faces so i would take pictures of her.  She would laugh at herself.  It was so funny how she tries so hard to make these face expression.

I still remember when i was a little girl that these little kids ride used to be 25cents.  When i brought Sophia to one of these rides today.  Couldn’t believe it was 75cents.  Crazy!  You can’t even get 2 rides out of a dollar.  I should bring Sophia to Chucky Cheese.  I believe is only 25cents there.  Way cheaper.

It’s been all about Cinderella or other Disney princesses.  Who knew a two and a half years old little girl could be so obsessed with anything.

Since my aunt is feeling better.  We walked around the neighborhood with Sophia and came across this toy store.  We went in and my aunt let Sophia pick out an early Christmas present.   Not to my surprise.  She  picked Cinderella.

Happy Birthday to Iris !!!  My aunt’s daughter.  She’s all grown up.  Can’t believe she’s 11.  Got her a cake and sang her the happy birthday song.  What do you know.  Sophia thought it was her birthday and made everyone sing the birthday song for her.  Not to mention we had to relight the candle so she could blow the candle ONE MORE TIME.

What happen when a little girl can’t sleep in the middle of the night.  Of course play games on her iPhone till god knows when.  All i know is that she woke up three in the morning and that she took the iPhone for games.  And what do you get when you don’t sleep at night.  You are too tired to wake up in the morning.  Just look at that.  She didn’t wake up till noon.
